ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Only Port Member City applicants, in consultation with their Port Commissioner or Commissioner-authorized non-profit/service organization, may apply for the Civic Event Program sponsorship. Submittal of a Civic Event Program application does not guarantee the requested date and/or venue location. Nor does the submittal imply automatic approval of your event.
Event Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant is Member City or Commissioner Authorized Non-Profit/Service Organization
- Civic Events are free of admission charges or required participation, registration, or equipment rental fees and are open to all ages.
- Minimum Projected Attendance 500+
- Civic Events must occur on the Port tidelands.
- Event must occur between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.
- Submitting a Civic Event Program application does not guarantee the requested date and/or venue location, nor does it imply automatic approval of your event.
SPONSORSHIP FUNDING
The Board of Port Commissioners established sponsorship funding levels for the current fiscal year's Civic Event Program in the Port's operating budget. Civic-sponsored events must occur between July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Each member city may apply for sponsorship in consultation with their Port Commissioner, or a Commissioner-authorized non-profit applicant producing an event on Port tidelands in a Port member city may apply for Civic sponsorship. Sponsorship funding and fee waivers may be requested for a single event or be divided among several events occurring in the same fiscal year.
Registered users may work on their submittals in multiple sessions, and the responses are periodically saved to the cloud. Upon successfully verifying their application data, applicants will receive a system-generated email; ensure receipt of the confirmation email and retain a hard copy to acknowledge that your verification data was received by the deadline. The Port of San Diego is not responsible for incomplete verification submittals or applications not received due to technical issues.
