Welcome to the FY26 Tidelands Activation Programs Sponsorship Application Portal.

The Port of San Diego offers sponsorship to a wide variety of local events through the Tidelands Activation Programs (TAP): Community Event Sponsorships and Civic Event Sponsorships to create a vibrant waterfront experience. The annual grant programs offer service fee waivers and/or funding for both large and small events that engage the community and inspire visitors to enjoy the San Diego Bay.

In consultation with their Port Commissioners, Port Member Cities apply for sponsorship under the Civic Event Program. Eligible applicants are Port Member Cities and BPC-authorized non-profits that produce free public events held on tidelands that are open to all ages. To support bringing activation events to the tidelands, the Board of Port Commissioners reauthorized TAP fee waivers for non-profit organizations for fiscal year 2026 (FY26), which will produce Community Events. Please note an important update for event planners and non-profit organizations applying for TAP fee waiver sponsorship for FY26: TAP-sponsored events must be free of admission charges, registration fees, participation or equipment rental fees, and open to all ages.
